Texas Spanish Academy offers a unique daycare and preschool specializing in teaching children Spanish through their immersion programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Fun, school readiness, and social skills are fostered through daily play-based and engaging activities in an intimate and low ratio, home-like environment.
Educational Mission:
The mission of Texas Spanish Academy is to facilitate an educationally stimulating and safe environment where young children can develop cognitive, linguistic, physical, emotional, and social skills, while gaining experience speaking and understanding the Spanish language.
Educational Philosophy:
Texas Spanish Academy believes children are natural explorers of their environment and are each uniquely designed with innate skills and strengths which should be fostered to help children develop cognitively, linguistically, physically, emotionally, and socially. A multi-sensory and interactive approach captivates children and allows them to take ownership of their learning.
History:
Texas Spanish Academy is a locally and family owned center founded by the Morrison family. It all started in 2010 when Edina and Matthew Morrison were in search of and could not find the right school that had the perfect balance of fun, learning, Spanish, and feeling like home. With Edina being degreed and certified as a teacher, they knew they had the tools and resources to make that perfect place a reality. That perfect place began as Oak Hill Spanish Learning Center, a state licensed child care home, which operated successfully for 2 years serving the families of southwest Austin. OHSLC outgrew their space, and Texas Spanish Academy was born. Staying true to what made OHSLC successful, TXSA remains a nurturing center with very low ratios. Safety and fun are still the focus, and the learning and Spanish are just the icing on the cake!
